North Carolina Symphony: A Night in Paris at Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre
If you are looking for fun things to do in Apex, NC, how about a little dose of culture? The North Carolina Symphony is putting on “A Night in Paris” at Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre. As part of the SummerFest Finale, the Symphony will play music by some of Paris’ favorite artists, including Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Michel Legrand, and Charles Dumont.
There are a number of activities that go hand-in-hand with the musical selections. One of the coolest sounding events is Instrument Zoo. Children who visit the instrument Zoo will get an opportunity to play the symphony’s own instruments. As their website says, kids will get the opportunity to “bow or blow their first musical notes on the symphony’s instruments”.
Another activity that is part of the night’s festivities is the “picnic of the week”. Roving judges will be looking for the best picnic spread 30 minutes before the performance. The picnic that is deemed the best (along with two honorable mentions) will receive gift cards to Whole Foods in Cary.
